Obituary

Mr. Furley (nee Larsen)

Died mysteriously and suddenly on Thursday July 14, 2005, surrounded by his loved ones. Survived by his brothers, Rocky Balboa, Henry VIII and Douglas; mother, Amanda; and father Adam, all of Edmonton.

Damnit! I want my $1.99 back! Did you know PetSmart actually has a 14-day guarantee, so if you bring back the body of your dead fish with your receipt, you can claim a new one?!

Is it sick I'm actually considering it?
More than considering it... Mr. Furley's in my freezer in a ziplock.

I also thought it was a nice touch. Made it sound more authentic.

Thanks for your sympathies.
Sniff...

On another note... Hi!

At least you got to be the mother, not the father, this time. I'd say that's a step in a healthy direction.

When I was 12 I had a guinea pig named Pepper. One year we went on a big trip out to BC without my dad. Pepper died. My dad put him in our freezer, until he had time to give him a proper burial (or so he says . . .). Our neighbour, who was using the freezer to store some meat, came over to retrieve the meat for dinner. She found Pepper in the freezer.

There were no guinea pigs living in my mattress. Those were gerbils. Gerbils are small and look like mice with furry tails. They are also capable of leaping out of aquariums becaus they have tremendously powerful hind legs. Guinea pigs are much larger and aren't rodents at all. They are much more affectionate and don't really have tails at all.

And my dad claims to have given him a proper burial under a rock by the river, but I have a sneaking suspicion that he actually sent him out with the trash.
